The English meaning of the Italian words "La Polvere Nera" is Black powder.
The best known male in the history of Cartouche, a Belgian Malinois, who ist most probably best known in the history of the breed.

The roots of the malinois lay in Mechelen, which is a city in the Flemish part of Belgium.
The French name is maline, mechelaar is the name in its original language.
